How does Energy Pal work?

EnergySage offers resources for homeowners who are considering going solar, including a network of fully screened solar installers, explanations of different ways to finance your solar upgrades and guides to help you understand solar leases and power purchase agreements.

With EnergySage:

  1. You set up a property profile with the required information, including your home’s location and energy usage.
  2. EnergySage’s solar advisors gather the best companies for you. These companies then compete with each other to offer the best quote.
  3. You receive these quotes in an easy-to-understand format that shows each company’s prices, technology, install dates and financing options.
  4. You can then compare the quotes. EnergySage answers any questions you have about the solar energy process, helps you filter through quotes and enables you to choose the best installer.
  5. Once you decide which quote you like, you accept the offer directly through EnergySage.

Energy Pal services and features

EnergySage offers both home and community solar services that are designed to help you compare and save on renewable energy. The company has a network of pre-screened, local installers to compare and choose from.

Home solar

Residential customers can receive and compare quotes from multiple rooftop solar panel installers in their local area. EnergySage also offers advisors who can help you make the right decision based on your needs.

The company also offers a solar calculator that helps customers estimate upfront costs, savings and financing options for a solar energy system. These experts can help customers determine the best financing options, including taking advantage of any applicable solar tax credits and rebates.

Community solar

Energy Pal can also help customers who don’t want to purchase or lease solar panels for their home but still want to benefit from renewable energy.

Through community solar, you can subscribe to a shared solar farm in your area that sends clean energy to the grid. Its community solar is available in 12 states plus Washington, D.C.

After subscribing, you receive utility credits for your purchased share of energy generated by the farm. These credits will be reflected on your utility bill as energy savings and vary based on your zip code. According to Energy pal, you can save 5% to 15% on your utility bill each year by choosing community solar.
